Dehli Belly strikes Kathmandu

• They say if you are ever going to get sick anywhere, it will be in Nepal, and I did, & it was no fun • You just can't compare our standards of cleanliness and hygiene to theirs, particularly when you are staying in a hostel (you simply turn a blind eye or you wouldn't do a lot of things) • Pumped myself full of antibiotics and Kitti's pro-biotics and tea, toast, Coka cola and digestive cookies • Prakaash came and gave me some honey, he thought I needed some nourishment • All of the hostel staff were very attentive and concerned for me • I simply slept the day away • There was no way I was going to move to our host family's home during that • I did notice I was missing a gorgeous blue sky day &  then rolled over for another nap • I hate feeling like this - I know I'm missing some fun • Kitti is off having one of her Nepalese outfits adjusted by a local seamstress and then went into town shopping with the girls in the hostel • Cultural classes take place in the morning and its free time in the afternoon • I avoided all meals

  1. I can't think of anything worse than being sick with , probably, dysentery, away from home and your own familiar surroundings. You did the right thing by just sleeping and trying to avoid the whole thing.
